Death and Pirates on the high seas

Just kidding... wanted to get your attention lol. We have moved on from our lovely marina to a mooring ball in Vero Beach to wait for a weather window. The crossing will be from West Palm Beach to Old Bahamas Bay. So far the weather doesn’t seem favorable for the next week or so. The municipal marina in Vero Beach is quite nice, cheap and very busy. A lot of sailboats are tied together  for lack of space, called rafting as you’ll see in the photos. You really need to be in good stead with your neighbor being so close. 😊 We are rafted to another Corbin whom we traveled with while going through the locks on the Oshwego and Erie canals. After the locks, we were either a few days ahead or behind them. We met up  again in Palm Cove Florida and we’ll make the crossing together. There is also another Corbin on a mooring ball just next to us. So rare to see 3 Corbin’s next to each other.....such a lovely sight. So many sailboats and power boats waiting for the crossing. Ever...

Bahamas bound

Christmas and New Years is already over since a few weeks. It was a quiet holiday for us at the marina as most  people were away. We did have our friend John from Kitchener visit us for a week which was nice for us and a little chilly for him, the weather wasn’t great.. Many jobs, repairs and cosmetic work to the boat were done  during our time here. This has been a wonderful spot to refresh the boat and recharge for the Caribbean.  The fridge died just before Christmas so we had to get ice at the marina every day to fill it so we wouldn’t lose our food and keep the beer cold, lol until the new one arrived. Luckily Mike was able to install it so it did cut down on our costs . I was busy with varnishing and painting jobs. Now we’re itching to leave for the Bahamas. We’ve provisioned heavily ie beer and wine since everything in the Bahamas is 3 times the price of Florida.
