Death and Pirates on the high seas

Just kidding... wanted to get your attention lol.

We have moved on from our lovely marina to a mooring ball in Vero Beach to wait for a weather window.

The crossing will be from West Palm Beach to Old Bahamas Bay.
So far the weather doesn’t seem favorable for the next week or so.

The municipal marina in Vero Beach is quite nice, cheap and very busy. A lot of sailboats are tied together  for lack of space, called rafting as you’ll see in the photos.
You really need to be in good stead with your neighbor being so close. 😊 We are rafted to another Corbin whom we traveled with while going through the locks on the Oshwego and Erie canals. After the locks, we were either a few days ahead or behind them. We met up  again in Palm Cove Florida and we’ll make the crossing together. There is also another Corbin on a mooring ball just next to us. So rare to see 3 Corbin’s next to each other.....such a lovely sight.
So many sailboats and power boats waiting for the crossing. Everyone monitoring all types of weather channels hoping to see favorable winds from the south.

The city of Vero Beach has a beautiful water front, (water pretty cold) free city buses and lot’s of shopping nearby so we have the opportunity to add to our beer and wine provision!!!
One of our great pleasures is watching the many dolphins swimming around our boat, close enough to touch and seeing all types of birds and small reptiles. Still waiting to see an alligator.......
Cheers,
Mike and Pierrette
